  • Dr. Janoc Vance

    Dr. Janoc Vance is a PsyD in Psychology/MFT and a proud native of Los Angeles, CA. She has dedicated her life to humanitarian, and philanthropic work as a vessel to strengthen and empower. Coming from a background as a professional in the Performing Arts industry, after intense self-reflection and prayer, Dr. Vance discovered an extension of her purpose within an even more in-depth style of the Arts. She realized the Arts was a true gift and passion used to guide her toward an even bigger purpose, within the field of, Behavioral Arts and Psychology.

    After receiving formal training and graduating with an undergraduate degree in Theatre and Minor in Dance from Prairie View A&M University, and UNLV, 10 years later she re-entered the academic world to further nurture her purpose through graduate studies. She then received her Masters in Clinical Psychology/MFT, concluding with a Doctorate of Psychology/MFT. She is currently a Doctor of Psychology, specializing in Psychotherapy treating adults and families dealing with dual diagnoses, trauma, depression, mood, and personality disorders. She is also a clinical consultant for film/script writers and character development.

    Dr. Vance works with integrative and holistic methods. However, she has taken a liking to differentiation methodologies, aspiring to assist those that are directly or indirectly struggling to differentiate the symptom vs the cause, the individual vs the system, and the facts vs the emotions.

    She currently works as a Clinical Director and has a private practice/business, Living is a Lifestyle, LLC, which specializes in clinical life coaching, clinical consulting within the psychology profession and entertainment industry.

  • Jennifer Patterson

    Jennifer Patterson is a grief worker who uses plants, breath, and words to explore survivorhood, body(ies) and healing. A queer and trans affirming and centering, trauma-experienced herbalist and breathwork facilitator, Jennifer offers sliding scale care as a practitioner through her private practice Corpus Ritual and is a member of The Breathe Network. She has facilitated workshops at healing centers, LGBTQ centers, a needle exchange and harm reduction clinic, online with the Transformative Language Arts Network, sexual violence resource centers, at colleges and universities, veterans hospitals, the collective What Would an HIV Doula Do? and a Hasidic and Orthodox Jewish healing center. She is also a teacher in training programs with The Breathe Network and Breath Liberation Society. She is the author of The Power of Breathwork: Simple Practices to Promote Wellbeing (Quarto). Editor of the anthology Queering Sexual Violence: Radical Voices from Within the Anti- Violence Movement (2016), Jennifer speaks across the country, and has had writing published in places like VIDA: Women in Literary Arts, 580 Split, OCHO: A Journal of Queer Arts, Nat. Brut, The Establishment, HandJob, and The Feminist Wire. A graduate of Goddard College’s MA program, Jennifer is finishing a book project focused on translating embodied traumatic experience through somatic practices and critical and creative nonfiction.   • Shaylee Graham, LCSW

    Shaylee Graham is a psychotherapist and is trained in Reiki and Breathwork. She has been providing clinical care to individuals and families since 2015. Shaylee uses a holistic approach to therapy, recognizing the foundational connection between scientific, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual influences. Shaylee works from a lens of cultural and trauma awareness and use a strength based approaches to everyone with whom she works with.

    Population focus:

    Adults of any age in the care and treatment of: Anxiety Disorders; Depression; and Trauma.

    Services:

    Shaylee provides therapy to residents of Oregon and Washington.

    Education and Experience:

    Shaylee completed her master's degree at Portland State University in 2014. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Oregon and Washington. She has diverse experience working as a social worker in the following locations:

    Portland State University Field Education and Adjunct Faculty Member - Field Instructor Facilitates social work intern’s understanding and application of social work values and ethics.

    Rogue Community College - Faculty -Teaches courses in College Success, Race & Ethnicity, and Motivational Interviewing.

    Chauna Bryant is a Breathwork Meditation facilitator, Pilates, and GYROTONIC® Instructor, and founder of Breath Liberation Society. She is dedicated to body and mind rejuvenation. With 15 years of experience, Chauna assists her clients in cultivating their mind, body, and breath alignment. She revolutionizes her multiple practices by integrating her multiple expertise into enriching client-specific experiences. Dedicated Pilates clients will cultivate stronger, leaner bodies while benefiting from breath-activating energy work with her methods. Participants in her private, group, and corporate Breathwork Meditation sessions benefit from her multifaceted experience and singular approach.   • Emily Wessel, LPCC, CET2

    Emily Wessel, LPCC, CET2, is certified with the International Society of Experiential Professionals and has worked extensively with non-profit organizations, treatment centers, educational institutions, and prison reentry programs as a trainer, coach, group facilitator, and curriculum specialist. She has held various roles in the addiction and mental health treatment industry for the past 12 years and is grateful to be in long-term recovery herself. She holds an MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and a BA in Economics from the American University in Washington, DC.

    As a primary therapist Emily shares her passion for experiential and somatic techniques of psychotherapy. She runs trauma-informed groups for adults and teens using action methods such as psychodrama, sociometry, and art-making to educate clients on maintaining healthy relationships, managing stress, addressing addiction, codependency, and many of the other life challenges that can affect mental health. When not working, she can be found dancing, roller skating or finding ways to be of service in her community.

  • Nathaniel Hodder-Shipp, CADC-II

    Nathaniel Hodder-Shipp, B.Msc, CADC-II (he/him), is President and Founder of Breathwork for Recovery and has worked as a professional healer for almost 15 years. Using an arsenal of techniques with a special focus on breathwork, Nathaniel has helped thousands of people process trauma, disarm negative thought patterns, and maintain healthy and happy relationships with themselves and loved ones. Nathaniel’s client base ranges from those seeking relief from everyday anxiety to people suffering from severe emotional and physical trauma and desperate for help, and his specialty includes working in addiction treatment facilities to help accelerate clients’ journey to recovery.

    Nathaniel has been mentoring others in breathwork since 2013 having been certified in 2010, and he himself has clocked over a thousand training hours. He studied with David Elliott for over a decade and formally founded Breathwork for Recovery in early 2018 to train others to use breathwork to treat trauma, mental illness, eating disorders, and substance use disorders. He is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Level II with CCAPP, a certified sex educator via Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE), and a graduate of The Fundamentals of Astrology Years I-III with Austin Coppock. He is an ongoing student of traumatic experience to offer clients comprehensive and professional care. With this unique perspective and skillset, Nathaniel works full time helping empower people to make the necessary changes in their lives toward long-term health and happiness.

  • Jeffrey Pesner

    Jeff Pesner, BA, is a seasoned breathwork practitioner and recovery industry professional who has run thousands of groups and private sessions inside treatment facilities throughout Southern California. Jeff has been with Breathwork for Recovery since the beginning and has been under apprenticeship with Nathaniel Hodder-Shipp since 2016 with hundreds of hours of supervision to complement his facilitation experience. In addition to his industry experience, Jeff completed the 25-hour Sex Educator Certification from Everyone Deserves Sex Ed (EDSE) and completed the David Elliot system of healing training twice. He also has a degree in philosophy from Loyola Marymount University. Jeff Pesner is in recovery himself and celebrated 8 years on continuous sobriety in June of 2022.

To be honest, I thought it was just some overly hyped hippie stuff and figured I’d be done with it as quick as it all started.
